1.  WHAT IS RUSH?

Rush is a time to meet the active sisters and learn more about the sorority. This is the chance for girls interested in joining SYZ to get all their questions answered. Rush is completely non-obligatory. In other words, there is absolutely no pressure to join or commit to SYZ. During rush week, we hold a variety of fun events to give you an opportunity to get to know each of the sisters. Also, to provide an overview of our organization, what we do and who we are. If you decide to participate, you become a rushee. No commitments or promise are made during the rush, so relax, and just have a good time! This is also a time for us to get to know YOU, so come on out and play!

2. SINCE ITS ASIAN INTEREST,CAN NON-ASIANS JOIN?

Absolutely! Sisters from SYZ come from all cultures and ethnicities. Although we are culturally oriented, we are by no means exclusive to Asian/Asian Americans.

3. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

The main difference between SYZ and any sorority is the strong independent women in the organization. When choosing a sorority to rush, the most important factor should be how comfortable you feel and how well you get along with the sisters. Ask yourself, do you feel relaxed while chatting with them? Can you see yourself hanging out with them in the future? If the answer is YES, you should definitely consider joining! After all, sisterhood lasts beyond rushing and even beyond college. It is about being yourself and sharing memorable experiences together. Sisterhood lasts for a lifetime.

4. DO YOU HAVE A HOUSE?

We choose not to have a house to allow sisters to have the flexibility to live wherever they prefer. This allows you to have the experience of maybe dorm life, along with life as a Sigma. We believe that sisterhood makes the sorority, not the house.
